When I was given the opportunity to review the new ErgoPouch Cocoon Air Swaddle with the Worm I have to admit I approached it with some trepidation – after all what mother wants to change a winning sleep routine. When the lovely parcel arrived my mind changed – that same day it hit over 40 degrees here, and was 29 degrees in the bedroom so perfect conditions for giving the ErgoPouch Cocoon Air Swaddle a test run.

The ErgoPouch Cocoon Air Swaddle is the world’s thinest swaddle, made from a super light bamboo and is perfect for our super hot Aussie summers.

I initially found putting Worm in the swaddle a little tricky, I decided to put it on from the bottom up (to avoid having it over her head for too long), and after a couple of attempts this became very easy. I stripped her to just a nappy & singlet as it was sooooo hot outside, and then use the swaddle. I also put a thin cotton sheet over the top overnight as Worm has just started to enter the ‘rolling over in bed’ phase. She tends to sleep with her arms up, so I was concerned that trapping her hands down might disturb her – again no need for concern here, as she was able to keep her arms up within the confines of the wrap.

I particularly love how the Cocoon Air has no zips or velcro, and was super quick to dry when Worm sucked her hands through it. The super thin bamboo fabric prevents overheating in hot weather. I did notice that the size I had been given for Worm was up to 6kgs & she is now about 6.5kg so I imagine that using the swaddle would be much easier with a smaller baby.
